Building trigger
Combolands Warehouse: store score, then trigger it
A Warehouse can accumulate a large stored score without paying it out. Charging and triggering are separate: nearby scoring buildings fill it, then a compatible outside effect must trigger Warehouse to release the stored amount. Check the activator's live target highlight before committing the layout.

What Warehouse actually does
A current-build Warehouse card shows two separate parts. Its passive stores the score whenever another building in range scores, excluding other Warehouses. Its trigger effect then scores the amount that has been stored.
| Stage | What happens | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Charge | Another building in Warehouse range scores, increasing the stored amount. | A full Warehouse is not automatically ready to pay out. |
| Trigger | A compatible outside effect activates Warehouse. | Not every trigger can target every category or position. |
| Payout | Warehouse scores the stored amount when triggered. | Other Warehouses do not feed its passive storage. |
How to trigger Warehouse step by step
- Place Warehouse beside reliable scorers. Its range must cover other buildings that will score often enough to build the stored total.
- Confirm that the stored number rises. If it does, the charging half of the chain is working.
- Add a separate activator. A player report names Ballista. In the cited current-build run, Rainbow Paint made Warehouse eligible for a Fish Trap trigger.
- Check the live target preview. Before committing the whole layout, make sure the activator actually highlights or reaches Warehouse in your run.
- Trigger once and watch the payout. The Warehouse should score the stored amount; only then scale the loop around it.
Two public trigger examples
Ballista: an independent Reddit reply answers the exact player question by saying Warehouse must be triggered by another building “like the ballista.” That is a community example, not a complete compatibility list.
Rainbow Paint and Fish Trap: in a September 2026 current-build video, the player uses Rainbow Paint so a Fish Trap can target Warehouse, then the recorded run shows the stored score being released. This proves that setup worked in that run; it does not make every painted Warehouse a valid Fish Trap target.
Warehouse not triggering? Check this first
| What you see | Likely break in the chain | Next check |
|---|---|---|
| Stored score rises, but no payout | Warehouse is charging but has no compatible activator. | Inspect Ballista or another trigger and verify its target highlight reaches Warehouse. |
| Stored score stays at zero | Nearby buildings are not scoring inside Warehouse range. | Check the operating-range overlay and wait for one covered building to score. |
| A second Warehouse does not add score | The visible card text excludes other Warehouses. | Feed it with non-Warehouse scoring buildings. |
| The video combo does not target yours | Your categories, paint state or placement may differ. | Trust the live preview in your build instead of copying the example blindly. |
Common Warehouse questions
How do you trigger Warehouse in Combolands?
Warehouse stores score when another building in its range scores, but it needs a separate compatible building to trigger it and release the stored score. A current-build video shows a Fish Trap trigger after Rainbow Paint changed the setup; a player also names Ballista as an example.
Why is my Warehouse storing points but not scoring?
Storage and payout are separate. A rising stored value means the passive is working; it does not prove that anything in the layout can trigger Warehouse. Check the activating building’s target and range highlight.
Can one Warehouse charge another Warehouse?
The Warehouse card shown in current-build gameplay explicitly excludes other Warehouses from its passive storage condition.
Does Rainbow Paint always make Fish Trap trigger Warehouse?
Do not treat that combination as universal. It worked in the cited recorded run, but paint, category and target rules can vary by setup. Confirm the target with the live card and highlight before building around it.
