Match each item to the correct container
| Item | Container | How it enters |
|---|---|---|
| Tome | Bookshelf | Automatically |
| Gem | Jewellery Box | Automatically |
What to do when the transfer fails
- Check that the correct container is present: Bookshelf for a Tome, Jewellery Box for a Gem.
- Do not try to drag the item onto the building. The documented behavior is an automatic transfer.
- Confirm Steam has installed v1.0.6 or a later build. Crux Games specifically fixed cases where these items did not enter their matching containers.
- If it still fails, record the item, container and game version before reporting it. The patch does not publish a separate manual-transfer command.
What the patch does not answer
The official v1.0.6 note confirms the item-to-container mapping and a failed-transfer bug. It does not publish container capacity, duplicate handling or a complete Tome and Gem list. A Steam Community answer supplies the automatic-transfer instruction; it should not be stretched into rules that the source never states.
Can you check them in the Compendium?
v1.0.5 added a Compendium for current-run buildings, heirlooms, councillors and dismissed buildings. The official announcement does not explicitly list Tomes or Gems, so use the matching container as the current task answer rather than assuming a Compendium page exists for each item.
Why these containers matter
The Jewellery Box also appears in the current community-documented route toward the Arcane Guild. If that is your goal, continue with the secret Guild unlock guide. For the broader current building list, use the Combolands buildings guide.
